One of the biggest and most consistent blessings in my life has been yoga.
Since 2015, I’ve been practicing hot yoga or vinyasa across the US in Raleigh, Greensboro, Atlanta, Charleston and now Boone! I have found the most amazing benefits, both physical and mental. In Boone, I love to go to High Country Yoga for both their warm power and flow to yin classes. I’ve recently started reading poetry or philosophy in the warm room before class begins, and it really helps set my intention for the practice.
There’s something about focusing on breath and movement that clears the mind. Once the class is over, I’m able to focus on gratitude and contentment for my body and what it’s accomplished. Sometimes, between the heat, stretch, and strength of a posture- I’ve noticed my mind stops wandering, and the only thing that matters is the pose and breath.

There are some great benefits from practicing yoga both in the mind and body. From an eating disorder, miscarriage, anxiety, and all other struggles I’ve faced, I’ve been able to cultivate peace on the mat.
“Yoga teaches us to cure what needs to be not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” -B.K.S. Iyengar
