The Nursery

I knew the moment we got pregnant that I wanted a piece of art from Chelsea McShane in our nursery. I immediately purchased the two dogs that looked like Ramsay and Rhodie, but I didn’t realize that a few weeks later, I would also buy the painting “Dancing With Jesus” to go with the two dogs in our nursery.

Initially, I didn’t want to touch our nursery. After all, I’ve been waiting to decorate this room for almost three years. I tried to keep it exactly how it was in the exciting first/second-trimester decorating stage. But now I’ve decided that I want to continue to decorate and design this nursery for my little boy.

It’s hard because I have this beautiful plan for our nursery. I’ve envisioned rocking my baby there, Ian and I building a crib, hanging the artwork and wallpaper, putting the little bear rug down, and all the other fun things that come with bringing a baby home.

So, I’m going to continue with this plan in the hopes that God will bless us with a family in the future. Nothing will ever replace this baby, James, in my life. But at least I can keep the memory of him going for a little while longer.
